Hyne Beam15

Proven to Perform

Introducing Beam 15, a high-performance structural product that’s engineered to handle long spans and critical loads. As Hyne’s strongest softwood beam, it has undergone rigorous quality testing and proudly boasts 'S' Mark certification, fully compliant with AS/NZS 1328.1:1998 standards.

Indoor and Outdoor Applications

Available H2 or H3 treated for indoor and outdoor, above ground applications in Australia.

Alternative for GL17

Beam 15 is Hyne’s latest innovation in GLT; a premium alternative to GL17 beams, LVL or steel.

High load applications

Ideal for lintels over large window and door openings, garage openings or roof beams, where spans over large spaces are dictated by design.

Benefits

A fairdinkum product of Australia

Whether you’re a builder, designer, chippy or a homeowner, there’s a special appreciation for locally sourced timber, and it’s not hard to see why. Our timber is made from plantation pine grown in our own backyard and is designed to handle Australia’s harsh environment, to stay straight, and perform on the job, making light work of frames and trusses.

More practical than steel

The renowned natural strength of timber is enhanced with our glue laminating process, ensuring Beam 15 is comparatively lightweight and ideal for long span / high load applications. This means that our GLT is a fraction of the weight of steel with the advantage of being easily cut, notched, or drilled on site.

Tried and tested

Beam 15 has been assessed by an independent third-party testing program, which was completed by Griffith University with the assistance of the Engineered Wood Products Association of Australasia (EWPAA). 21 unique sample types and a staggering 312 individual beam samples were tested to establish key properties and structural performance. Hyne Timber’s Beam 15 complies with the National Construction Code (NCC) and met the Australian standards in manufacturing and design – AS1328.1 and AS1720.1.

Visually striking

Appearance ‘Grade A’ is made to order and intended for use in applications where appearance is important and clear or painted finishes are used. All surface voids are therefore filled or repaired. Unless otherwise specified, the surfaces are sanded to a minimum 60 grit finish.

Good for the planet

The pine used in Beam 15 is sourced from sustainably managed Aussie plantations. In fact, building with Beam 15 is an eco-conscious endeavour, because unlike some other building materials, Hyne GLT manufacturing is energy efficient and benefits from the use of biofuel. Not only that, timber is renewable and locks carbon away. And as it happens, approximately 50% of the dry weight of timber is carbon absorbed from the atmosphere.

Quality

For 140 years Australian homes have been built with Hyne Timber. We implement standards throughout our business that underpin our commitment to product quality, service, safety, and sustainable timber production.
