At what temperatures can Soudal Soudabond Subfloor adhesive be installed? Soudal Soudabond Subfloor adhesive can be applied on surfaces with a temperature range of -17 °C and +35 °C. The can temperature range should be between 5 °C to 25 °C. If required, slowly bring the can to the optimal temperature by placing in cool or warm water.
How many panels can I install with one can?One can of adhesive will yield approximately 150 linear metres at a bead width of 12mm. For ordering purposes, its recommended to add wastage of 10%.
What is the shelf life? Soudabond Subfloor and Gun & Foam Cleaner is 24 months.
If I do not finish an entire can, can I use the rest later? Yes. If you leave the can attached to the gun, partially used cans can be reused for up to 14 days after the initial attachment to the gun.
What type of adhesive is it? (polyurethane, solvent, etc.) It is a 100% polyurethane resin adhesive that contains no fillers or solvents.
Is Soudal Soudabond Subfloor adhesive compliant with the applicable VOC regulations? Yes. California Air Resources Board (CARB) has evaluated subfloor adhesives and determined that they fall within the same category as web spray adhesives. Soudal Soudabond Subfloor adhesive is below the 40% VOC limit for web spray adhesives as identified in the Table of Standards, section 94509(a) of the Consumer Products Regulation.
Will Soudal Soudabond Subfloor adhesive bond to floor joists that are wet or frozen? Yes. It can be installed on wet or frozen timber.
Once I apply the adhesive, how long do I have to install the subfloor? 20 minutes is a safe time frame.
How long does it take to fully cure? It takes 24 hours for Soudal Soudabond Subfloor adhesive to fully cure.
Can the applicator gun be cleaned out and reused? Yes, when cleaned with Gun & Foam Cleaner. Clean the gun internally by screwing the can onto the gun and pulling the trigger several times until only clear solvent of cleaner is dispensed, keep an interval period of 10 - 15 seconds after each time. Do I need to clean inside the gun every time I change cans? No. The inside of the gun only needs to be cleaned out with Soudal Gun & Foam Cleaner when you remove an adhesive can with no intention of immediately attaching a new full can. You may need to spray the cleaner onto the valve to remove any adhesive prior to attaching a new adhesive can. See video in point 11.
Will the cleaner harm my skin if it touches me? No, the cleaner can be used to remove wet adhesive from skin but do wash hands with soap and water afterwards.
